          Reporting Relationships
  • The Reservoir Engineer reports directly to the Reservoir Engineering Manager and will work closely with members of the land and finance departments.
 
            Basic Function
  • To perform analysis of well performance and preparation of reserve estimates using a variety of techniques including decline curve analysis and analytical modeling.
 
 Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate oil and gas reservoir performance and depletion strategies.
  • Conduct internal reserve and economic evaluation of acquisition, exploration, drilling, recompletion, and workover opportunities utilizing appropriate economic and engineering applications.
  • Develop engineering models integrating well performance/production forecasting.
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations to add reserves.
  • Steward business results and make recommendations to increase asset value.
  • Complete budgeting, forecasting, and reserve/economic analysis for year-end reserve reporting on existing assets.
 

 
 
The Candidate

            Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
 
            Experience
  • Degreed Engineer with 5+ years of industry experience in: Reservoir Engineering, well performance analysis, reserve estimation, and economic/risk analysis.
  • Experience in preparing annual reserves estimations in accordance with SEC and SPE guidelines
  • A solid understanding of the principles of field optimization, development, and depletion planning is required.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The employee must be self-directed and have the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and the ability to communicate results and interpretations to management.
  • Proficient in ARIES, MS Excel, MS Access, and standard evaluation software

  • Recommend key projects to management team to increase asset value and add reserves
  • Provide support and analysis in production forecasting
  • Visionary and strategic thinker; a creative change-agent that identifies issues and translates data and information to successful strategies.
