Job Summary

The primary focus of the Project Manager will be development of and execution of Building Science and Building Rehabilitation projects in the Greater Minneapolis area. This position will also include the business development/expansion of our Building Science Group clients. This may require, from time to time, attendance at events outside of normal business hours. The Project Manager will regularly participate on rehabilitation of existing buildings in addition to new build projects. Depending on project needs, travel may be required and limited to short term and relatively infrequent trips within the general region.
The new employee will perform BSG type work to include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:
  • Performance of design reviews of architectural drawings for water, thermal, air, and vapor control systems, curtain walls, store front systems, rain screens, Hearty panels, design of new wall systems, masonry restoration, integration of new walls/windows, Electronic leak detection (ELD)
  • Attendance at design review meetings to discuss Client’s positions on reviewed documents
  • Attendance at pre-construction meetings to ensure that sub-contractors are aware of the potential challenges associated with the building envelope and to ensure that the various sub-contractors have an understanding of how their scopes are coordinated
  • Perform on-site quality assurance observations and prepare written reports describing those observations.
  • Perform, with necessary assistance, the various building envelope related field testing offered by the Client.
Another aspect of Our Clients services that the new employee will participate in on a regular basis is the rehabilitation of existing buildings. To this end, the employee will:
  • Evaluate existing conditions for determining the existing deficiencies and the appropriate means of correcting those deficiencies
  • Be a part of the development of the project construction documents
  • Assist property owners in selecting a contractor
  • Providing quality assurance (observations and reporting) and construction administration services throughout the execution of rehab projects.


  • Must have previous consulting experience
  • Must have previous building envelope experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience; 10 years is preferred
  • Technically competent and able to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients, co-workers and subcontractors
  • Experience in field investigations and building rehabilitations including structural, envelope, façade and roof assessments preferred
  • Experience interacting with clients is required
  • Effective cost analysis experience
  • Ability to travel throughout Minnesota and surrounding regions
  • Ability to solve structural issues and architectural issues
  • Experience with project ownership from inception to completion
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Experience with design software is a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
  • Ability to carry 50 lbs is required and physically able to climb in and around structures/buildings
