Position Summary:

Our firm is seeking a personable, articulate, highly motivated and qualified individual to join our fast-paced McKinney, Texas team in a diverse full-time forensic department manager. The optimal applicant will thrive in a rapidly changing environment and enjoy working on multiple projects, both in the field and in the office. The right candidate will be enthusiastic with sharp attention to detail and have highly developed written and verbal communication skills. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who will excel in developing solutions for our projects across the United States.
 
The Department Manager is responsible for structural and architectural forensic consultation and investigation and team leadership. The responsibilities for this position include scheduling, performing site evaluations, field analysis and assessments of low/steep-slope roofing systems, structural systems and architectural systems for storm related and other possible causations of distress. The investigations require visual, as well as intrusive examination and as-built condition assessments with conclusions, repair recommendations and review of cost analysis performed by other specialists on the team. This position requires building and maintaining client relationships, including independent client interaction and consulting with design and construction professionals when required. As is with our culture, this position includes both leading and at times being a member of company project teams. Some regional and national travel is required.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science preferred in Engineering or Architecture
  • Strong Structural Engineering background
  • Licensed Professional Engineer(PE) or Professional Architect (RA) preferred
  • Technically competent and able to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients, co-workers and subcontractors
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Must have practical understanding of building structures
  • Experience in field investigations and building rehabilitations including structural, envelope, façade and roof assessments preferred
  • Experience interacting with clients is required
  • Effective cost analysis experience
  • Ability to travel throughout TX and surrounding regions
  • Ability to solve structural issues and architectural issues
  • Experience with project ownership from inception to completion
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Experience with design software is a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
  • Ability to carry 50 lbs is required and physically able to climb in and around structures/buildings
