Job Description
The Vice President of Equipment & Purchasing will oversee all areas of Company’s equipment and purchasing functions for all lines of business including Aggregates Yellow Iron, Ready Mix Concrete, Material hauling, and Construction. The candidate will work with Line of Business Managers to ensure peak utilization and maintenance of equipment, strategic purchasing plans and capital expenditures, as well as prepare monthly and annual budgets. The candidate is expected to be fully engaged and have proficient understanding of the revenue and cost streams of the department while make team work and safety the top priority.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure a safe work environment by overseeing compliance with all safety policies and procedures including the demonstration and communication that safety is the first priority
Create a team atmosphere that supports high quality team member buy-in
Effectively manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Work with Line of Business Managers to plan, budget, and coordinate all repairs including winter repairs
Prepare monthly forecasts including R&M costs, Revenue and Shop Costs
Work with Line of Business Managers to ensure maximum equipment utilization
Prepare annual budgets and Capex requests
Review and prepare evaluations of tire cost, major repair spend, and asset disposal recommendations
Ensure effective utilization of all systems to direct reports, including TMT, Company Score Cards, 5S, and Safety Program
Other duties as assigned
